Because beauty is a concept unique to each person, my job is to understand my clients and help them bring out the best in themselves. I support and take an interest in the LGBT cause and this week I dedicate myself to transgender women. Below are 7 tips to feminize your face.
You will also find an example of makeup transforming a man into a woman.
Male foreheads have a wider and higher structure than female foreheads.
They also tend to slope backward, while women's foreheads are more vertical.
Fortunately, there is a simple and effective way to mask this difference: bangs!
Opt for layered bangs on the side to hide your forehead without hardening your features.
However, avoid thick, straight bangs that accentuate the angularity of the face.
Men have thicker and straighter eyebrows compared to women, whose eyebrows are thinner and more arched.
The second difference is that male eyebrows sit lower.
To feminize your face, start by plucking your eyebrows to transform your gaze.
We recommend:
• For the first time, visit a professional who can create the perfect shape for your face. Later, you can pluck them yourself following the traced line.
• Daily, enhance your eyebrows using makeup. Here's an article that explains the steps.
The eyes are one of the first things people notice about your face.
The lower eyebrow and more closed eyelid of men give a sense of depth to the male eye.
To feminize your gaze, follow these steps:
• Learn to apply eye makeup like a professional by taking a private lesson.
• Lengthen your lashes using a volumizing mascara, and feel free to use an eyelash curler. Here are my favorite mascaras to help you choose.
Male and female noses are not quite structured the same.
Men typically have longer noses with wider nostrils.
The bridge tends to be straight or arched, whereas women's noses are more concave.
If you have a prominent nose, don't worry—not all women have thin noses!
Here’s how to refine it:
• Draw attention to other features on your face. Enhance your eyes, lips, or cheekbones with makeup. If done well, your nose will recede into the background.
• Slim your nose by doing contouring. Here’s a tutorial explaining how:
Women have more prominent and rounded cheekbones than men.
But to feminize this, you can cheat!
• Use corrective blush and apply it to the tops of the cheekbones rather than the hollows, which accentuate angularity.
• Certain injections can help reshape the contour of your face and cheekbones, such as Restylane, Perlane, or Radiesse. Research these fairly costly but effective products.
Plump lips are a symbol of femininity.
Men have thinner lips, and the distance between the base of the nose and the top of the upper lip tends to be longer.
Luckily, there are several methods to feminize them:
• Use a lip plumper containing hyaluronic acids to make your lips fuller. I particularly like the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer.
• Avoid dark colors, which tend to thin the lips.
• You can also look into injections offered by the brands mentioned above. Just don’t overdo it.
Men generally have pointier and longer chins than women.
With broader jaws, male faces often appear more imposing than female faces.
However, note that many female celebrities have square faces that they wear beautifully, such as Demi Moore, Angelina Jolie, or Keira Knightley.
To refine your chin, here are my tips:
• Choose a wavy hairstyle above the shoulders to slim down your chin. Avoid short hair or overly square cuts.
• Create beautiful contouring makeup to reshape the face and soften angularity. Here’s the method in a video:
The more you apply these tips, the more you will feminize your face.
And always remember, beauty is not about having perfect facial features but about highlighting your natural charm!
