Adolescence is a time of change!
For young girls, this includes physical changes such as the onset of menstruation, breast development, acne issues, and the appearance of body hair.
It’s a time when they begin to view their bodies differently and develop new interests, such as makeup. Teenagers see their idols or friends dolled up, so it’s only natural for them to want to do the same!
As parents, support them by guiding them through this new relationship with femininity.

As parents, it’s not always easy to see your child growing up. Especially when your little girl, who was playing with dolls just yesterday, now wants to look like Sananas and wear lipstick. However, with the rise of a new generation of YouTubers and bloggers adored by teenagers, it’s clear that beauty is a genuine interest for these young girls who dream of learning to do makeup like their idols.
Opposing these new trends can lead to conflicts with your child, who may feel misunderstood. The easiest way is to open a dialogue and set boundaries. For example, you could allow specific times when she can wear makeup, but more importantly, teach her the right way to do it to avoid excess and prevent her from crossing into vulgarity.
We all have teenage experiences where we went a little heavy-handed with makeup simply because we didn’t know how to apply it properly. Too much foundation to cover blemishes, poorly shaped eyebrows, overly dramatic eyeshadow…
It’s important to teach your daughter to apply makeup lightly for a natural and refined look. And if you’re worried that your "mom" status makes you less credible in her eyes, enlist a professional.
I offer makeup lessons tailored to teenagers to teach them proper techniques, especially for their complexion.
They often want advice on how to cover acne that makes them self-conscious. I show them how, while discouraging them from overusing foundation, which can have the opposite effect.
Then, I explain how to enhance their eyes with a fine eyeliner line and a touch of mascara. No more, no less!
I place great importance on listening to them and answering their questions. It’s my role to help them feel beautiful naturally by showing them a few simple daily techniques.
In just 1h15 to 1h30, this can significantly help them feel more comfortable with their femininity.
